Slow and steady progress

Well we’ve been slowly making progress with Payton, he has gotten better and better walking at heel on leash for N. Still needs work of course but he is so much better then when he started out that I am pleased with his progress all things considered.

There are areas that I know need a LOT more work, mostly in relation to his tasks for preforming his job with Norman. But some of that will come with time and so I’m not to worried that he’s not gotten all of it down pat since its not even been 20 days since we introduced some of this task stuff to him.

Getting him to actually bark is proving to be a harder thing to teach him then I first thought it would be, he is a virtually silent pup who doesn’t seem to be into being overly vocal unless he’s really really REALLY has to go potty, so looking for ways of getting him to speak as as to be able to turn it into an alert instead of the pawing and covering that he currently does (those two are good and we wish them still, but that bark is necessary for him to call for help and draw attention to them in times of need).

Other wise things are well with his response to N faking it to degrees so I’m happy as is Norman with his companion.
