What is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia AwarenessAs many might or might not be aware I have been told that I have Fibromyalgia, it is not something that I was expecting to get told and I am still trying to figure out its place in what is going on in my life.

One of the things with Fibromyalgia that I am still trying to figure out is where what is going on with me fits into what is part of the condition itself, vs what might actually be something else totally but might get lumped under Fibromyalgia for no good reason other then current tests are not detailed enough to catch what is going on.

But what I can tell you is the following from what I have learned since getting told I have Fibromyalgia is that it is one of the most common musculoskeletal conditions diagnosed after osteoarthritis (which is what I was first told that I have). Unfortunately for many out there Fibromyalgia is still misdiagnosed and very much misunderstood buy society in general and within the medical world. Some of the well known characteristics of it include widespread muscle joint pain and fatigue, as well as other symptoms that are lesser well known such as IBS. Fibromyalgia can for some also lead to depression and social isolation do to the fact that you are always in pain, thus you might not be as active and social as you once where.

Well post as time does pass, take care!
