This is most definitely not a “101 or beginner’s book. The author assumes at least a moderate level of training and understanding in the field of energy work. The information he conveys will benefit anyone, but the benefits will definitely increase with greater familiarity with the subject.

This book falls outside of my normal range of interests, but that is why I decided to tackle it. Many people, myself included, tend to allow themselves to slip into a comfort zone, especially with their belief system. The subtitle of this book (Knowing and Understanding Spirit Guides, Ancestors, Ghosts, Angels and the Divine) serves as a reminder that there are multiple levels to our works.

This book is not a fascinating work. It is, however, a valuable book for a number of reasons. One of, if not the most important reason is that it starts out by detailing the methods available with adverse reactions. This isn’t an “exorcise the hell out of it” approach, but rather an approach which emphasizes the recognition of a problem and applying a variety of appropriate responses. It also stresses the importance of knowing your own limits and asking for assistance when it is needed.

While I wouldn’t say that this is a “must have” book, but it is certainly a valuable addition to the library of anyone who is interested in the topics covered.
