Well finally got onto IMVU after checking it out a year or so ago and finding that it was a WINDOWS app only no mac support and no sign that they where going to support it in sight so I gave up on it and looked to SL and OL for my online virtual experience.
Much to my pleasure I learned this month that IMVU had added the Mac to the OSs that where supported, only issues like SL and OL they only support the Intel based Mac’s not the PPC oh well so I can only run it on my MacBook not a major issue.
Thus far its taking me longer to get into the swing of using IMVU then it did for me to get into using SL or even OL – the interface to me just isn’t user friendly in general and it runs blasted slow, I though SL had issues with slowness but I hanged my mind on that area at least at the moment it feel that way, who knows how it will feel in the weeks and months to come as I explore this new system.
One of the things I do like thus far is the ability to make my Fur self right off the bat without having to put funds into the program to do so or camp or other means of having to earn funds to get the AV Id like to have, though at the same time the options to what I can make myself look like seem more limited then what is on SL and I see a lot of people here saying they are fur’s yet to me they look like Neko’s which to me and many other’s who call our selves fur’s neko’s are anything but furs.
Also the sex side of things and getting hit on seem’s to be at a higher degree here then I’ve encountered else where in the 10 minutes I was logged into the system to check a few things out I had no fewer then 15 requests to chat from single young males who as soon as I answered where asking me for my MSN, Yahoo, or other chat IM handle. ::Shakes head::
Even had one young person, ask if I had a Cam and when I said yes he was like “are you naked?” ::blinks:: umm nice start to a conversation boy ::face paws:: anyhow, when I said “yes hubby and I just finished” he left chat ::chuckles::
Seriously if this is going to turn into one of those sex crazed deals I’m not going to be using it much, yes I know I can out it to 18+ Adult Only, or Friends Only but still I shouldn’t have to worry about that when it comes to chatting with people in general.
