Freestyle Libre

I’m on my second Sensor for the Libre, and to various degrees I am enjoying it.

It is most interesting to see how my numbers are going according to the sensor for what it is unfortunately according to the sensor I am spending more then 65% of my time over mmol 8 and only 20% in range and 15% lower then range. Running that high has me concerned since it would explain why my A1C has gotten higher over the past year despite my increased insulin usage (I’m not up to using a single pen of Humalog a week, I use to be able to use a single pen for up to a month – that is now in the past it does feel).

The second sensor when it was attached to me, was actually a little more painful then the first time. A minor pinch and this time there was blood after it was attached didn’t know it till later (several hours) but not unexpected from what I have been reading about it.

I’m not sure if I will be getting more sensors after this one expires. Will have to see as I don’t yet know if what limited insurance I do have will even cover it or not if not then well i’m back to test strips and finger pokes multiple times a day and chasing my numbers to try and stay ahead of the high and low.

Well I am going to do a full review of the sensor just working on figuring out what to say form my notes (likely will write it after i see my endo at the end of october as he’ll have a chance to review the data (even if its a semi out dated).

Well post more as time does allow for it, take care!
Nyx
