Disabled Life Diary: July 12, 2025 – Humid Days, Low Energy, and Wheelchair Hopes

Was a fairly laid back day overall, but blasted HOT and humid to the point that the AC in our apartment was struggling to keep up, which meant turning on both fans to help circulate air to try and keep the place cool (which really didn’t work very well, sadly).

According to my Garmin watch app, Sleep Coach said I got 7 hours of sleep, 2 hours and 7 minutes of a single nap, a sleep score of 45 (considered Poor with a duration of 3h 7m). Heart Rate ranged from 56 bpm to 99 bpm. HRV status was 50 ms – Balanced (whatever that actually means, I’ve no clue). Stress was recorded as Overall Stress Level of 29, with Body Battery showing Charged +72 / Drained -74. I also got in 1,243 wheelchair pushes.

As for intake, I had:

  • Fluids: 36oz water, 12oz coffee, 14oz Vega Mocha Shake, 1L SodaStream
  • Food:
    • 6 Eat Well Pinty gluten-free chicken nuggets
    • GF sourdough sandwich: 2 slices GF sourdough, 1 tbsp roasted red pepper hummus, 1 tbsp vegan cream cheese, 1 serving chicken breast slices, ½ cucumber (sliced)
    • Vega Mocha Shake (made with 14oz oat/almond milk, 150g frozen peaches, 140g banana/strawberry mix, 1 tbsp instant coffee, 1 tbsp sugar)

Most of the day was spent relaxing and watching YouTube, latest Past Life Hermitcraft content, some BBC’s Emergency and Blue Light, and other current events. Some of it was rough, but I try to stay informed.

I also worked on editing Monday’s Minecraft Experience video (Episode 5.4), part of the Rebuilding TU41 series. It’s halfway done and should be finished in time. Like the others in the series, it’s commentary-free, just music and nature ambiance.

Beyond that, I did some housework:

  • One full load of laundry (N helped with the dryer shuffle)
  • One full load of dishes (cups, utensils, Creami containers), but the bowls and plates are still waiting

I took the pups out a couple of times, but N handled most of it due to the oppressive weather.

Dexcom change day: moved from left to right side. Ozempic injection will be on the opposite thigh, and insulin will follow that side-rotation rule for the week.

Energy-wise? I’m just so drained. Even though the Garmin says I got enough rest, my brain says otherwise. I’m foggy and running on low.

Got an SMS from a Motion rep about my wheelchair upgrade inquiry, but they still haven’t followed up via email like they said. So I took initiative and emailed them directly using the address they included. Hopefully I’ll hear something Monday. If not, I’ll go in person next month. I honestly wish I had contacted Motion first instead of the OT’s pick, who did nothing to correct the poor fit of the current chair. I know ADP won’t cover another chair unless it’s been 5 years and there’s justification, but I do have hope that Motion can help advocate for a better fit.

So yeah… it’s been a quiet, draining, hot day. I didn’t eat enough, didn’t hit protein or calorie goals, and feel like I’m spinning my wheels with too much to do and not enough energy to get even a little done. But there were no meltdowns, no intense pain, just fatigue and fuzziness. So all in all? Could’ve been worse.
