Krispies Treats

The ever loving childhood goodness of Krispie treats .. yes its not a healthy treat, but we all like treats once and a while and this one is no different … its an occasional treat that is a taste of childhood for many of us.

If you have access to the sugar free marshmallows by all means use those, but personally I like the full sugar ones … and if you wish you can always use that instant mellow it works like a charm.

17 Minutes to Prepare and Cook

Ingredients
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies Cereal, 6 cups
Vegan Becel, 6 tsp
Vanilla Extract, .5 tsp
Marshmallows (vegan), 250 grams

Directions
In a marge microwaveable bowl microwave the becel for 30 to 60 seconds till its melted. Add marshmallows tossing to coat evenly.

Set microwave to high for 1 to 1 and a half minutes or until marshmallows have melted and are smooth when stirred (takes about 45 seconds)

Stir in vanilla and add cereal stirring until coated

in a lightly buttered spatula press into a buttered 3.5L pan (13 x 9) and let cool before cutting into squares.

This recipe makes 12 squares that are 4″ square (if you can manage it 2″ squares are recommended and then this recipe will make 24 of them, but since most of us like to taste what we make the 4″ is the most common size I’ve found around)

Number of Servings: 12
