Hello, I am a Type 2 gal too. I am child free at the moment. It looks like I will be child free for the remainder of my life due to other conditions beyond the betes.

Seems we have a lot in common as far as myself tinkering with photoshop and doing websites. If you go to my website you can read about my diabetic journey as I am reading about yours which I fine fascinating. I would love to converse with more. Right now I am traveling on vacation to Oregon with a friend of mine. I would be happy to send pics of the beauty of the state. I leave in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles.

Ronnie in the above post if a friend of mine (thepoordiabetic) we both like MMA.

Regards,
Chrystal

I'm also infertile and childfree by choice. I'm quite happy being the cool aunt - my eldest sister, who has three children, is stressed out 24/7. I don't know why anyone would choose to be that way. It's unfair to her and it's also unfair to the kids, who get yelled at over completely insignificant things due to both parents being highly strung in such a way that every small problem gets overblown.

No, that isn't what I choose. And thankfully, I was born without ovaries and I don't even menstruate. It's wonderful!

I love babies. I love to hold them, bathe them, dress them, coo them. But it certainly doesn't mean I'm going to have one. I was pretty lucky. When we got married I was only asked once "when are you going to have a baby?" It was a room full of relatives. I clearly stated, "None of your business." I have never been asked since. :) And really, it is no one's business what life choices I make other than my partner's.
Congratulations on your choice.

I applaud you for having the courage to come to terms with your infertility in a mature and reasonable way. Especially with the overcrowding the planet is suffering from at present, a few more people could stand to share your views.

I don't know what my final decision will be, yet, but I do know that if we continue along as we are doing and the time is never 'right' then it's not a decision I will regret. There is plenty of meaning in life with or without children.

I think in general women spend more time griping and whining than basking in the joy of life. It's so easy to get caught up in the little things.
